Tonight the PTA put on a Family Game Night, which I thought my kids might forget about after school. But alas, they did not. So for an hour and a half, the kids and I played quacking duck games, Twister, crunching crocodile games, card games, Memory (which Lars kicked my bum at, 34 to 6), ABC matching games and Trouble. Eden had her name picked for a door prize and won "War", a card game. Elia ran around for the most part, socializing. All in all, everybody had fun, I made it to the store to buy milk with 32 seconds to spare, and the kids came home wired but tired. With bedtime right around the corner, I might get my walk in tonight yet.
These are the Happenings of the Strawn Family. A lifelong journey of commitment that began in April 2002 with a small wedding in a small church in a big city. Thanks for joining us, enjoy the walk...

A bit on kids
Its girl scout cookie time!
Eden spent this weekend out in the deep snow drifts selling girl scout cookies. With a 'new to her' coat sent from grandma great's house, she trudged door to door looking sweet with cookie sheet in hand. After several rejections and no answers at the door, she asked if we could go home and get some hot cocoa. Since I was the driver and fellow trudger, I was all over that request! The next day was more productive but equally as cold.
Happy selling, Eden Ann!
Lars, in all his meltdowns and technical corrections to whatever you just said to him, made me laugh the hardest this week.
He introduced me to his imaginary dog, Scott. When asked, He informed me that Scott is A Peer dog who is Lars' police dog. I said I didn't know what A Peer dog was or whist they looked like, he said, matter of factly, "you know, he will just appear when you need him!"
Oh Lars. How can I not adore you?
Elia. Sweet Elia. Innocent darling that you are. Elia has been affected by an unknown food allergy that has struck again. Miserable last week, I think we are past the worst. She had midnight baking soda baths and Benadryl slushys until shriveled up to almost nothing. And once she felt better, she was back into the fish food, chocolate cookies, and anything on her big sister's dresser.
Cheers to February snow!
