The kids had their Christmas concert at school last night, and it was very fun to watch. It was the first year that I did not have a child sitting on my lap to keep quiet, which is probably why my videos turned out so well!
Lars got to play the drums at one part of the program, and I have dubbed him the little drummer boy for the rest of the week. Elia sang the same songs that Lars did and she played maracas during Feliz Navidad. You could tell she was not excited to be standing next to one of the boys, and at the very end of this song, showed her disgust with one of the maracas. It was a sneaky kidney punch, but mother saw all.
Eden had a beautiful solo, one of the verses of the Hanukkah song. The irony was lost on no one, & I had several comments after the program about the interesting choice of song for her.
The entire music department is doing a wonderful job with these children, and I am thankful for them in this place. The kids did work hard, and even though they missed two and a half days of school this week, it was the performance of the year!
