Last week, Al had to be in St. Louis for the new Lutheran Service Book (LSB) hymnal training. He's going to be a presenter for the state of Nebraska this fall. The training was held at the Internation Center in Kirkwood, otherwise known as the Purple Palace. My parents came down to visit with us and we mostly sat out the 106 degree heat by enjoying the pool and the hotel's air conditioning. On the suggestion of a friend, we went to Grant's farm on a 'cool' 90 degree day and throughly enjoyed it, as well as the U.S. Grant Historical Site near the farm.
