Well, the fact that my New Year blog is already a day late should tell you how we have begun 2009...late. Yes, I was even late for my own wedding, but let's not bring that up.
It was our full intention to pack the Blazer and head to Wilcox for a few days after Christmas, but for one reason after another, our energy had all been drained from our bodies.
The rest of the week we hung out at home, getting some projects done around here. Not much to speak of, really, but odds and ends. Plus some quality time with daddy for the kids.

New Year’s Eve, we were planning a card party. One couple was out of town, another had to work and that left only four of us. Time to teach somebody how to play Euchre! I am proud to say that we have now picked up another couple who will play the predominately
Earlier this fall, I had a brainiac idea to go back to school and get my EMT teaching certificate. This class is only offered every couple of years and it’s very intense and extremely time consuming. I think it also causes divorces, but I have no solid proof of this yet.
Anyway, the class if offered 8:00-5:00 Saturday & Sunday for three weekends in January. Our first weekend has just past. I spent today recovering, and preparing my next week’s 20 minute presentation. I would recommend learning Power Point and mastering the use of a scanner BEFORE you become interested in this class. Not to mention, you should consider getting a hotel room and leaving the kids alone with the hubbie or sending them to grandma’s for the month.
Since neither of these were an option for me, I had to depend on a teenage babysitter by day, my electric blanket by night, and a pseudo aunt/uncle comedy routine in the form of Mark and Laura Douthit, who took them to church Sunday morning. I’m hoping they won’t move out of the state before next weekend.
This is the sole reason that the blog is late. I could not even think about sitting in front of the computer last night. Besides, Laura made pizza so I didn’t have to cook, subsequently, I was at their house until I was almost asleep. Lars, with his ability to take a one hour nap during the day, was up six times in six hours throughout the night, and
I think it’s safe to say my children missed me over the weekend, and I guess I missed them a bit, too.
I’m very blessed to have a husband, however, who will bend over backwards for me to get this education, which will hopefully lead to a second income, however little it might be.
Enjoy a few photos from the past couple weeks.
Happy New Year~
